Selected Teaching Evaluations from Students

Taylor was probably the best Professor I had at Columbia. Everyone felt very comfortable and free to share their opinion during discussions. (Organizing Innovation, Fall 2023)

I've had the pleasure of being in multiple classes with Taylor as my teaching fellow and it has been so wonderful to see his growth and to know that he is available for help and for questions. He went out of his way to make sure we could meet to discuss assignments when I had questions and pushed me to make sure my evidence and data was relevant. I will definitely miss seeing him in class every week, but also know his future students will be lucky! (Politics of Mass Incarceration, Spring 2025)

Extremely helpful, and very nice discussion sections. I learned a lot from the sections, perhaps more than in class. Taylor stimulated participation and discussion, but without putting pressure on students. (Social World, Spring 2024)

Taylor creates a really welcoming and open space very conductive to the conversations we had. He directs the conversations really well while still allowing students to lead and he takes a step in or out when necessary. He clearly knows the course material very well and he loves discussing the readings with us or any course material for that matter. He was also super available and would give great feedback and answers to any questions. (Organizing Innovation, Fall 2023)

Taylor was a fantastic TA: approachable, knowledgeable, and responsive. Discussion sections were relaxed and productive in large part due to his demeanor and soft guidance. I appreciated his flexibility and understanding. Wishing him the best of luck in his graduate work, he is obviously going to do tremendous things! (Organizing Innovation, Fall 2024)
